CAB – Battery Current Sensors
The CAB Series offers best‑in‑class current sensors designed for high‑precision measurement of DC currents in high‑voltage battery systems, delivering reliable galvanic isolation and advanced performance for electrified applications. Fully compliant with ISO 26262, CAB sensors support functional safety requirements up to ASIL‑C, making them a key component in modern xEV battery management systems (BMS).
As electrification accelerates and automotive manufacturers address challenges such as range anxiety and fast‑charging performance, accurate current measurement becomes critical. The CAB Series enables highly precise State‑of‑Charge (SOC) and State‑of‑Health (SOH) estimation by providing extremely low offset and high accuracy (<0.5%), ensuring reliable coulomb counting and optimized battery utilization.
Building on more than a decade of field experience, the CAB Series has evolved to support increasing power demands, now covering current ranges up to ±1500 A, while maintaining compact design and measurement stability. Its contactless measurement principle ensures no insertion losses, enhanced safety, and compatibility with high‑voltage architectures up to 800 V.
Combining high accuracy, compact integration, and robust safety compliance, the CAB Series is a trusted solution for Li‑ion battery monitoring, supporting OEMs in delivering efficient, reliable, and high‑performance electric mobility systems.
CAB 1000, a new addition to the CAB Series
The CAB Series will soon be expanded with the new CAB 1000, a next-generation battery current sensor designed to address the specific challenges of commercial vehicle battery management systems applications.
Engineered for higher current environments and harsher EMC conditions, CAB 1000 introduces enhanced crosstalk performance and improved immunity to AC disturbances, overcoming traditional fluxgate limitations.
With a scalable design up to 1500 A, support for 1500 V systems, and seamless integration with existing CAB form factors, it extends the series’ capabilities to new use cases while ensuring accuracy, robustness, and ease of adoption.
