LEM Publishes Its First Yearly Sustainability Report

Helping customers and society accelerate the transition to a sustainable future

On May 28th, we were thrilled to announce the publication of our company’s inaugural Sustainability Report. This milestone represents our profound commitment to helping customers and society accelerate the transition to a sustainable future.

This purpose is central to our strategy and future growth plan. LEM’s current sensors play a key role in the energy and mobility transition underway. With the megatrends of decarbonization and electrification accelerating, we are in a unique position to capture further growth.

This report outlines our sustainability strategy, highlights our key achievements, and details our plans for a sustainable future.

Key highlights of the Sustainability Report

This first report marks a major step in our sustainability journey, reflecting the collective efforts and dedication of our teams. It lays a solid foundation for our future strategies and compliance with transparency regulations.

The report is structured around several key pillars, including:

  • Sustainability Governance: Establishing clear roles and responsibilities to drive our sustainability ambitions.
  • Double Materiality Assessment: Identifying our most relevant sustainability topics, categorized into Environment, Social, and Governance.
  • Material Topics: Detailed overviews of risks, opportunities, policies, measures, and KPIs for each material topic, illustrated with case studies.

The most relevant sustainability topics based on our double materiality assessment are summarized in the report. These have become our sustainability strategic priorities. The impacts, risks, and opportunities were defined and assessed by our internal subject matter experts.

This double materiality assessment has helped us analyze our impact on society and the environment across our operations, value chain, and into the future. It has helped us formulate a more impactful strategy centered on emissions reduction, waste management, circular economy, innovation for consumers, business ethics, workforce working conditions, and supply chain human rights issues.

Sustainability Report 2023/2024 highlights include:

  • 49% females / 51% males
  • New Labor and Human Rights Policy, Refreshed Code of Conduct Policies to match our sustainability ambitions
  • 1,808 employees working in 17 countries
  • 87% of our own sites using renewable electricity
  • New employee whistleblowing process
  • Repetition of our ambitious emission reduction commitments:
    • 90% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2025
    • 90% reduction in Scope 3 emissions by 2040
