The new Single Monitoring Unit (SMU) for accurate SOC estimation across all EV technologies
The SMU, or Single Monitoring Unit, is LEM’s latest current sensor designed for DC measurement in high-power, low-voltage automotive applications. It provides galvanic isolation between the primary (high power) and secondary (electronic) circuits.
The SMU family offers a variety of current measurement ranges within the same housing, from ±400 A to ±1500 A.
These automotive current sensors feature high insulation levels and operate within a temperature range of -40°C to +125°C.
Designed for primary fastening installation, SMU sensors use Hall effect (open loop) technology, ensuring dependable and precise current measurements for electric vehicle applications.
SMU sensors, known for their capability to measure DC, are widely utilized in a range of automotive applications.
These sensors are ideal for use in the following areas:
Product | Primary nominal RMS voltage | Supply Voltage range | Op. Temperature |
---|---|---|---|
SMU | 1500 A | 5 to 5 | -40 to 125 °C |
